Mumbai, India
Hosted by artists Hemali Bhuta and Shreyas Karle
Event Name: The Anonymous Garden
Location: CONA Foundation
July 19, 2015, 11am–2pm
This event reflected on the artists’ experiences as resident artists at Montalvo in 2010 and the nurturing of their interdisciplinary practices—the close proximity to nature, sensitivity toward the environment, the respect for the mundane and pedagogy. The CONA Foundation, situated at the edge of the national park in Mumbai away from the hustle and bustle of the city, is working to create a similar situation for the community and the students in this area.
In order to commemorate the anniversary of artist residency at Montalvo, the artists invited a botanist to enlighten participants with information on the many plants that adorn the CONA Foundation’s garden.
