New Artist-in-Residency Program at Valley Medical Center

The Sally and Don Lucas Artists Program (LAP) at Montalvo Arts Center, in partnership with SV Creates, is seeking proposals for a new project-based Artist-in-Residency program at Santa Clara's Valley Medical Centers (VMC) Women & Children's Hospital Wing: a newly renovated facility dedicated to pediatric, newborn and women's health. Upon completion, the artist will create an extraordinary artwork to be placed on public view in the hospital.

5 Hour Sculpture: Experiments in Public Space

Montalvo is reaching out to artists of all disciplines and interdisciplinary collaborative teams interested in experimenting with public practice and exploring the creative possibilities of temporary “sculpture” in our 175 acre public park. We are looking for innovative proposals for events, temporary installations, interventions, gestures, actions, participatory engagements, and spectacular intrusions, all of which would occur during a five hour period from 5-10pm on Friday, July 22, 2016.

Housed within Montalvo Arts Center, a 175 acre public park in the Santa Cruz foothills, and in the heart of the Silicon Valley, the Sally and Don Lucas Artists Residency Program (LAP) is a creative incubator dedicated to supporting the creative process for artists from all creative disciplines and geographical locations.
